Voter Registration

Are you registered to vote? Carrying out your right to vote is a privilege and a responsibility as a United States citizen!  Requirements to register to vote you must: 

• Be a citizen of the United States
• Be a legal resident of the county
• Be at least 17 1/2 years of age to register and 18 years of age to vote
• Not be serving a sentence for conviction of a felony involving moral turpitude
• Have not been found mentally incompetent by a judge

What is a Poll Worker and How Do I Become One?

Poll Workers are essential to the Election Day process. These are the individuals a voter encounters at the precinct (polling places) on Election Day. They are there to assist the voter completing Voter Certificates, issuing Ballots, making sure the voter can cast their vote and have it count. Do you want to serve your community and earn some extra money? Are you tech savvy, tenacious, confident, enjoy working in teams and born to multitask, a stay at home parent, have free time, or retired? If you answered yes to any of these, then you just might be the person we are looking for!

We are currently taking applications to become a Poll Worker.

 When and Where can I vote?

Before every election US citizens which have registered to vote by the designated deadline have the opportunity to cast their vote prior to the Election date.  Avoid the lines you may encounter on Election Day and vote early! Select your county of residence to view Advance voting location and times.

On Election Day the registered voter must go to the assigned voting location/precinct to cast their vote. Not sure of where you should go? Check here for your assigned voting location.

What is an Absentee Ballot?

There are no requirements for any registered voter to request an Absentee Ballot. However, you must file a separate application for each election for which you are requesting an absentee ballot (*see exceptions below for voters over the age of 65, disabled, or military or overseas citizens). You may file your application up to 180 days prior to the Date of the Election. You may access the Absentee Ballot Application online or you may contact our office to request the application.  

* EXCEPTIONS:

If you meet the following criteria, you may choose to complete one application and receive a ballot for the General Primary, General Primary Runoff (if any), General Election, and General Election Runoff (if any) by checking one of the following boxes:

E - Elderly - I am 65 years of age or older.

D - Disabled - I have a physical disability.

U – UOCAVA Voter - Member of armed forces or Merchant Marines of the United States, commissioned corps of the Public Health Service or the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, spouse or dependent residing with or accompanying said member, or a United States citizen residing overseas. My current status is (please mark one):

MOS – Military Overseas MST – Military Stateside

OST – Overseas Temporary Resident OSP – Overseas Permanent Resident (federal offices only)

For UOCAVA Voters Only - I would like to receive my absentee ballots by electronic transmission.
